January 16, 2001 a three-way $100
million deal with Cisco Systems

Internet access, content hosting
and portal services.
This project, the first phases
of which will be rolled out by the
end of the year, makes Noor one
of the region's biggest Internet
and communications service providers,
it was learnt. The communications
network, based on Cisco's multiservice
IP + ATM networking technology,
will give customers (both home and
business) access at 60 nodes around
the country, with multiple tens
of megabits-per-second data links
to the rest of the Internet, and
hundreds of megabits-per-second
of bandwidth available for broadband
